Embrace A Stream Grant & Orvis Challenge Results

Thanks to all of your help and support, GUVTU recently received $14,301 to help pay for the removal of the derelict Hyde Dam on the Second Branch of the White River in Bethel, Vermont - $4,500 from Trout Unlimited’s Embrace A Stream grant and $9,801 from the TU/Orvis Challenge. The funds will help restore and open 60 miles of the river to fish passage so that wild trout and other species can find cooler water temperatures in the hot summer months and spawning grounds in the fall. This is a collaborative project that simply wouldn't be possible without our colleagues at the White River Partnership and Vermont River Conservancy. Most importantly, thank you for your support!
