Tree Planting in Ludlow, VT
We are partnering up with BRAT on a tree planting!
Please RSVP so we know how many to expect! I will have my daughter with me to help, and the homeowner will be there to dig and plant and water.
Ideally, 5 or 6 more people would be greatly appreciated! The terrain is open, but somewhat steep and a little rocky in places.
Lunch and beverages will be graciously provided by the homeowner, but feel free to BYO water bottle, snacks, and/or lunch if you prefer.
BONUS - when we're done, she has also graciously invited volunteers to kayak or fish from her shoreline!
What: we're planting some 40-50 small shrubs/trees (silky dogwoods, elderberries, and blueberries) on a fairly steep bank on Lake Rescue. The goal is to stop soil from eroding, as a step toward protecting water quality and habitat in the lake.
When: Saturday, May 28 starting at 9 AM
Where: 1552 Route 100N, Ludlow VT (limited parking, please RSVP by replying to this email)
Bring:
* your favorite work gloves, though some will be provided by BRAT
* a pointed shovel if you have one, though several will be on hand
* bug protection and sun protection
* a bottle of drinking water, though some will be on hand courtesy of the homeowner
* an alternative snack or lunch
* optional: kayak with PFD, fishing gear, camera
